Classics (also known as Classical Studies) is the branch of the Humanities comprising the languages, literature, philosophy, history, art, archaeology and other culture of the ancient Mediterranean world; especially Ancient Greece and Ancient Rome during Classical Antiquity (Bronze Age ca. BC 3000 – Late Antiquity ca. AD 300–600). Initially, study of the Classics (the period's literature) was the principal study in the humanities. Traditionally, the Classics studied the Mediterranean civilizations of Ancient Greece and Ancient Rome. In the book that we use for listings of standard orchestra music - David Daniels "Orchestral Music" A handbook 4th edition there are 6700 works by some 900 composers listed. 25 of these include classical guitar but some of those 25 titles are Concertos for Guitar and orchestra. In "Music in Print" there are 2,548 entries in the orchestra section which list guitar in the instrumentation but there is no differences made between Electric guitar and Classical guitar. Many of these titles have been published but that does not mean that orchestras perform the works. 337 of those works are Concertos for Guitar and orchestra. Q. My parents always argue with me on this. They think it's distrating, but honestly I can't concertrate if there isn't classical music playing. Sometimes they tell me to turn it off.
